UR Medicine Pharmacy is seeking Medication Access Specialists for the Specialty Pharmacy program. The Specialty Pharmacy team works closely with doctors, insurance providers and patient care teams to ensure that medications are available, safe and affordable for patients. The Medication Access Specialist holds an important role within Specialty Pharmacy. Through collaboration with clinical staff, the Medication Access Specialist ensures that patients have access to high-cost specialty medications. This is accomplished by coordinating the efforts of the clinical staff, pharmacy and insurance companies.

Hours and location

  • Full-Time, day shift schedule of 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)

  • The Medication Access Specialists work in a call center environment at 120 Corporate Woods, Rochester, NY 14623 (Brighton/Henrietta area). There is an opportunity for hybrid work after onboarding is completed.

Qualifications: Pharmacy experience is not required but is welcomed

Must meet one of the following bullets :

  • Associates Degree in Medical, Administrative or related field with three or more years of relevant experience (i.e. medical office, pharmacy, office coordination etc.)

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with three or more years of relevant experience (i.e. medical office, pharmacy, office coordination etc.)

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19.08 - $25.77 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
