Compensation Range:

$33.84 - $43.99

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Technologist is responsible for the timely and accurate test analysis using moderately complex methods and/or instrumentation. The Technologist needs to be detail-oriented, show the ability to think and work independently because of the complexities of our methods. He/She is also responsible for instrument maintenance/standardization, daily quality control and adherence to all laboratory policies

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes patient samples using current, moderately complex laboratory methods/instrumentation

  • Adheres to quality control and quality assurance protocols

  • Reports results of patient sample analysis using computer/instrument interface options and manual entry

  • Participates in activities supporting laboratory operations, including rotation to alternate lab site (as needed), answers telephone inquiries and performing good documentation practices

  • Participates in the training of other technologists, technicians and/or residents

  • Performs instrument preventative maintenance as scheduled or needed

  • Performs method/instrument troubleshooting as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

  • BS in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology with at least 1 year relevant clinical laboratory experience.

OR

  • AAS with a total of 90 credit hours (per NYS distribution requirements) and at least 1 year of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
