University of Rochester Liver Pre-Transplant Coordinator - RN, Transplant Coordinator, Outpatient in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Exciting position in the solid organ transplant program working with the pre-liver transplant patient population. This position is critical to the evaluation and listing process for patients in need of a liver transplant. Establishing good rapport with patients, their support team and referring physicians is key to this position. The ability to work in a fast paced environment while juggling multiple responsibilities is paramount. Strong clinical skills and an interest in patient education is required. This is a detail oriented position that requires a great deal of time on the phone working with patients and their support team, answering questions, assessing patient status and providing guidance while pulling in other multidisciplinary team members when needed. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary setting. Position requires involvement in quality committee meetings and projects. Participation in developing and maintaining policy and procedures is encouraged. The candidate will serve as a resource to internal and external health care providers. The coordinator is responsible for adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures and practice standards, education of patients and staff, assurance of service excellence, completion of state and hospital required reviews of practice and participation in performance and quality improvement and other activities as required.

Qualifications

Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program required. Three to five years of nursing experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technical skills required; Transplant and cellular therapy knowledge preferred. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in NYS required; Certification in Nursing specialty area preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $38.64 - $50.24 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.

Full/Part Time:
Schedule: FT position available M-F, with some rotating call taken from home managing the logistics of setting up liver transplants and addressing patient phone calls.
