Minimum Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Eligible for or possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees. Duties Description Reporting to a Registered Nurse 2 (Medical Care), the Licensed Practice Nurse will work within the Claims department to evaluate and consult on Workers’ Compensation claims. This position is administrative in nature, within an insurance company, and is not a direct care position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Obtain and review medical records and treatment plans, as necessary.• Observe issues related to medication or changes in health status and report, as necessary.• Maintain all necessary records of claimants’ conditions and/or administered treatments. • Attend to claimants’ medical care, by reviewing all applicable documentation.• May talk to claimants, listen to their concerns and responses, and encourage them to cooperate and participate in treatment and rehabilitation activities. • May educate and counsel claimants and/or families regarding their health, medications, treatment goals and procedures, and behavioral interactions as appropriate.

Additional Comments Please note, the posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for ISU Grade 10 ($43,768), along with any special salary treatments in effect for this position in this location, such as a Geographic Differential ($4,000) and increased Hiring Rate ($5,680).
