TITLE: Lead Engineer - Energy Control System We offer AWESOME BENEFITS + SIGN ON BONUS + RELOCATION LOCATION: NY- RochestorWork-Type : OFFICESALARY RANGE: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $114332 to $142,916 JOB SUMMARY:Provides support for the AVANGRID Energy Control Systems (ECS) used to operate electric transmission and distribution systems (EMS/SCADA/ADMS/OMS and Back Office based platforms.Defines, implements and maintains supervisory control and data acquisition databases and definitions and maintains telemetry data and evaluates accurate information in the Electric Management System (EMS). Supports the specification, design, testing, implementation and development of the EMS to ensure that changing functional requirements are met. Design enhancements to the ECS to improve the user interfaces.With minimal supervision provides leadership within the SCADA/ECS Team on projects, training, and commissioning duties assigned and managed by ECSCoordinate the safe and orderly commissioning of new and redesigned intelligent electronic devices and instrumentation as well as other systems and components in substations and other interconnecting facilitiesMonitors and ensures that systems and components are designed, installed, tested operated and maintained according to operational requirements and standards for safety and reliabilityDocuments commissioning procedures, provides operational assistance and troubleshootingAnalyzes key power system data to ensure that the bulk electric system can operate in a safe, reliable, and coordinated manner in accordance with ISO/RTO operating principles and standardsWorks within the Control Center environment and supports Cyber Security requirements for Control Center operations. Maintains and creates documentation for supported platforms and systems to meet all regulatory requirements/standards . MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities): Must be able to maintain the SCADA databases, telemetry data, tuning and limit parameters. Must be able to evaluate accuracy of the information in the Control System Must be able to support the specification, design, testing and development of the EMS system to ensure that changing functional requirements are met. Must be able to design enhancements to the ECS systems to improve the user interfaces. Monitors and ensures that systems and components are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to operational requirements and standards of the organization for safety and reliability. Provides operational assistance and troubleshooting when needed. Analyzes key power system data to ensure that the bulk electric system can operate in a safe, reliable, and coordinated manner in accordance with ISO/RTO operating principles and standards. Capable of designing and implementing novel control system components and can optimize system components. Works within and support the Control Center environment under the NERC/CIP guidelines Supports NERC/CIP Compliance Program. Works within the Control Center environment and supports Cyber Security requirements for Control Center operations.
