Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experienced Environmental Test/ Reliability Engineer who will contribute to the company’s success by qualifying L3Harris products to applicable military standards. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Reliability and Environmental Engineering Services team and is responsible for successfully conducting reliability and MIL-STD-810 qualification tests.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and interpret MIL-STD-810 Methods and Procedures with ability to apply interpreted knowledge gained to L3Harris product testing.

  • Facilitate/conduct Environmental & Reliability Engineering testing.

  • Lead projects and prepare formal test documentation (project estimates, statements of work, project schedules, test plans, procedures, and reports).

  • Perform in-house product qualification tests/ coordinate performance of (and participate in) off-site tests at third-party test labs.

  • Provide regular communication (interim status, noteworthy events, decision points, etc.) to relevant parties on a timely basis.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related engineering experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience/proficiency with the following test equipment: Audio/Network/Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, and RF Power Meters.

  • Experience in performance testing of Radio Frequency communications gear.

  • Experience in programming and operating environmental climatics chamber controllers (i.e. Thermotron, Russells, Watlow).

  • Experience operating vibration tables.

  • Experience with LabVIEW programming.

  • Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming and Design.

  • Certification as a Reliability Engineer (CRE).

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $74,000- $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
