Role Overview

As a Data Test Engineer I/II at Measures for Justice, you will partner closely with a cross-functional Scrum team to ensure the quality of our data pipelines, ETL processes, and databases. You will craft test strategies, execute cases, and communicate gaps to enhance software functionality and provide high-quality data for external partners using our Commons product. Through your expertise, Measures for Justice will continue to provide access to high-quality criminal justice data to help communities reshape the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with a designated Scrum team to ensure data quality and process adherence Perform day-to-day testing activities, maintain strong communication with development teams Understand requirements and make recommendations for testing strategies Identify and fill gaps for testing needs and requirements Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias

Your Experience Proven experience in quality assurance and/or test engineering roles Skilled in testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and databases Able to design and build automated test suites Proficient in programming with Java, Javascript, SQL, and/or Python Proven experience analyzing JSON and/or XML outputs to validate data accuracy and structure Understands how to effectively integrate and interact with APIs Strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills Proven experience with independent work, self-direction, and prioritization

Bonus Points Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field Background working with data analysts, data engineers, and/or data scientists Experience testing code written in R If you do not have the skills/experience mentioned in the bonus points section, we still encourage you to apply!
