ESL Federal Credit Union Associate Product Manager in Rochester, New York

This position is remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. Hours are typically Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.
Pay:
Starting Pay: $87,500 Pay Range: $77,360 - $97,525
Purpose:
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for ensuring ESL’s digital solutions allow customers to achieve their desired outcomes by leading digital product/service additions, modifications, extensions and eliminations. The role leverages data, customer input, and market trends to define and prioritize work for teams to utilize in building and supporting digital solutions. Acting as the digital product subject matter expert, this person will lead communicating the value of the work being done to all stakeholders.
Accountabilities:
Act as Product Owner for Digital Development
Work with our Agile Development team as their Product Owner to produce new functionality and improve existing features
Partner with 3rd party API providers to enable functionality
Groom Digital Development Roadmap and backlog
Ability to pivot and keep the team aligned
Lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, and feature development
Continually improve Mobile and Online Banking solutions
Manage feature/function additions, modifications, extensions or eliminations
Maintain prioritized roadmap for features and functionality
Determine business tradeoffs with rationale
Approve statement of work documents and implementations
Understand customer journeys, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
Work with solution providers and vendor managers to improve digital products
Gain understanding of new features from solution providers
Work cross-functionally on objectives and prioritization
Collaborate with key stakeholders to scope and prioritize digital activities based on alignment to corporate strategy, customer value, and business impact
Align with Product team to translate prioritized customer problems into user stories and digital features
Communicate digital roadmap to key stakeholders
Champion a data-first approach to decision making
Work closely with technical teams on development and implementation
Work with user experience experts on product design
Represent the customer perspective within cross-functional work
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or 4 years of directly related experience required
In addition, 4 years of experience in financial services and at least one of the following:
Two years of experience in product management/product owner
Two years of experience in marketing communications
Two years of experience as a software engineer
Two years of experience in financial services customer support
Ability to move between agile and waterfall development environments. Knowledge of Agile principles and practices
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detail oriented with ability to understand big picture
Ability to lead by collaborative influence
Apply data to validate and justify decisions
Demonstrates alignment with ESL’s Core Values, mission, vision, and purpose to help our community thrive and prosper
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Marketing, or Software Engineering
Work directly with customers to understand their goals and provide guidance on financial products and services
Direct experience with financial service digital workflows and how they are used internally and externally
Experience working in agile development environments including writing user stories and grooming a product backlog
Product management or product owner certification
Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects within a financial services organizational structure
Empathy and creativity in solving complex problems with differentiated solutions
