Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pedatrics is recruiting an Assistant Professor with interests in both clinical practice and research to join our vibrant, multi-disciplinary team.

Patient Care

The Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Practice (GCHPP), a designated Patient -Centered Medical Home, cares for over 13,000 patients utilizing a team-based care model. The Assistant Professor will serve as a pediatric provider within GCHPP providing comprehensive and compassionate care for all patients, including those within Rochester’s medically underserved community. The candidate will work closely with teams of advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, care coordinators and support staff delivering care to GCHPP patients.

Research

Research in General Pediatrics focuses on improving health care delivery and health outcomes for vulnerable children and youth. The Department has a range of research activities and infrastructure available for qualified candidates. This may include protected time and funds to support research endeavors for up to three years, mentoring by experienced academic medical researchers and support for preparation and submission of grant proposals. During this time the candidate must demonstrate effectiveness in securing grant funding for research initiatives.

Qualifications

As a General Pediatrics faculty member, qualifications are as follows:

  • Successful candidates will have outstanding pediatric accomplishment and promise, and a commitment to the mission of Golisano Children’s Hospital.

  • Experience consistent with an early career researcher and interest in seeking and obtaining research funding in their field of interest.

  • Desire to teach and supervise patient care of assigned medical students, residents and fellows.

  • NYS license and DEA certification.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience, and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
