Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 30 corporations and foundations. Initiate and cultivate relationships; Solicit corporate and foundation grants, gifts, and sponsorships, including writing, creating, and editing proposal materials; coordinating effective grant management; developing stewardship plans; and writing and developing materials to meet grant reporting requirements.

  • Conduct at least 85 meetings a year with corporations, foundations, faculty, administrators, and student groups to develop solicitations, steward support, and develop funding requests.

  • Identify and evaluate potential new funding prospects and support faculty, staff, administrators, and student groups in drafting LOIs, concept papers, and other solicitation materials. Support project development to position campus partners for funding requests.

  • Lead high-level stewardship to corporate and foundation donors through quality written reports and related communications, and on-campus experiences.

  • Make appropriate use of time and resources; plan meetings efficiently; continuously update the prospect management database with information related to donor strategies, proposals, contacts, and results.

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, as well as with the institute-wide University Advancement team on behalf of RIT.

  • Other work as assigned.

  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) works closely with university administrators, department leadership, faculty, and the CFR team to raise necessary support for identified priorities. This individual is responsible for initiating, cultivating, and stewarding philanthropic relationships with local and national corporations and foundations while building successful internal partnerships across the university. Focusing on corporations and foundations capable of contributing gifts of at least $5,000 per year, this individual will build connections between existing and newly identified funding opportunities and appropriate academic and advancement partners.

Reporting to the AVP of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Assistant Director will identify and evaluate potential new funding prospects and support faculty, staff, administrators, and student groups in drafting LOIs, concept papers, and other solicitation materials; initiate and cultivate relationships with corporations and foundations; lead high-level stewardship to corporate and foundation donors through quality written reports and related communications; and support project development to position campus partners for funding requests. The Assistant Director will also work collaboratively with other members of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, as well as with the institute-wide University Advancement team on behalf of RIT.
