About the role

Our Rochester, MN location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and specializes in fermented ingredients for products related to the bio-science industry. Our team isproud of the work they do and have a focus on clean label or natural products ensuring freshness.

Shift: 7:00 am-3:30 pm - Days

Wage: 19:00

The wage for this role is $19.00 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. Key responsibilities

Lead and perform detailed and robust cleaning activities on specialized production and packaging equipment including, but not limited to, fermenters, blend tanks, dryers, evaporators, and sifters.

  • Fully understands all chemicals at the site including the proper usage, handling, and PPE safety precautions and exposure procedures. Understands chemical dilution and titration procedures.

  • Operates foamers, pressure washers, hose stations, and floor scrubbers in an efficient and workmanlike manner. Uses washing chemicals in a safe manner as established by the site.

  • Performs and assists in COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) procedures including assembling disassembling, operating, troubleshooting and cleaning specialized equipment such as valve blocks, pumps, etc.

  • Cleans and sanitizes steps, railing landings, ledges, lights, and floors. Operates stepladders, skyjacks, scaffolding and apparatuses in in adherence with sites safety standards.

  • Washes and sanitizes walls, tank exteriors, and overhead pipes, which may require repetitive motion on a routine basis.

  • Completes and marks off completion of cleaning activities in adherence with sites Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) by following Good Documentation Practices.

  • Reports to management and supervisor any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety

Qualifications and skills

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Six months to one-year experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.

  • Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel.

  • Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
