Job Title: Chemistry Technician
Job Description
Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. Testing is conducted in specialized laboratories using highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing with sophisticated instrumentation. Responsibilities include instrument operation and maintenance, troubleshooting assays, evaluating tests for accuracy, assisting with result interpretation, and providing operational support to optimize testing. Additionally, the role involves working with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results, adhering to safety protocols while handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy.
Assist with interpreting test results.
Provide operational support to optimize testing.
Work with multiple computer systems for information retrieval and result reporting.
Assist with specimen collection as needed.
Adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
Produce accurate results under time constraints and in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience).
3mo+ experience with laboratory practices in a college, research, or clinical setting (preferred).
