Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Director to provide strategic communications guidance and support for our AI, automation, and digital innovation initiatives. This role is critical in shaping and conveying our Bold. Forward. vision, mission, and advancements in these areas to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization's AI, automation, and digital innovation goals.

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to create and disseminate clear, compelling, and consistent messages.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor on communications related to AI, automation, and digital innovation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Craft and manage content for various channels, including press releases, social media, internal communications, and presentations.

  • Lead media relations efforts, including pitching stories, managing media inquiries, and building relationships with key journalists and influencers.

  • Oversee the creation of content to promote understanding and adoption of AI and automation efforts within the organization.

  • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

  • Manage crisis communications related to AI and digital innovation, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.

The director partners with senior leaders to drive innovation, challenge the status quo and implement solutions and programs to advance priorities. Responsible for ensuring deliverables are met and outcomes achieved. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external partners. The director helps to optimize operational performance. Serves as a thought partner and project liaison outside the department at all levels, helping to proactively identify and communicate business issues, coordinate project activities, streamline approaches/methodologies, and share best practices. Stewards the interest of the organization by ensuring strategies are viable. Fosters an internal culture of positive teamwork and transparency that drives excellent service, quality, diversity, an engaging work environment, and an overall continuous improvement mindset. Serves as a change agent, championing agile ways of thinking to enable teams and individuals to succeed. Drives excellence in financial management, communication (verbal, written and presentations), business and strategic planning, performance accountability and reporting. Supports department and institutional projects, staff recruitment, policy implementation and budget management.

Qualifications

Requires a master’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of relevant work experience; or a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 7 years of relevant work experience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies for complex initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of AI, automation, and digital innovation trends and their impact on healthcare.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • A self-starting mentality with strong project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms.

Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy. Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build effective communication and engagement strategies.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to independently identify opportunities, solutions and resolve challenges. Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results. Requires an attitude that actively seeks out change, embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement. Must understand how navigate ambiguity, and act without having the total picture. Adaptable and flexible.
