Custom Alarm Business Development Coordinator in Rochester, Minnesota

Summary The Business Development Coordinator is responsible to develop sales opportunities and generate revenue in both residential and commercial fields. Research and make proactive contacts within our current customer base as well as identify new potential accounts using market research and prospecting. Answer inquiries and obtain information in response to internal and external customers. Conduct day-to-day interactions with customers and coworkers in a manner that exemplifies and supports the Vision, Purpose, and Core Values of the Company. Pay Plan includes Base Salary + Commission + Competitive Benefits. Starting pay within the specified range of $50,000 to $60,000/year will be commensurate with applicant's background including education, experience, skills, and work history. Essential Functions 1. Develop sales opportunities within our current customer base by researching and identifying potential business. Develop queries and reports in Sedona for prospecting. o Targeted Marketing campaigns, such as Video Monitoring, Access Control Service, Fire Inspections, Wireless Communication, Legacy Upgrades, etc. Checking daily dispatch report and reaching out to customers. o See if the customer has all possible services (i.e., Video Monitoring, Wireless Communication, Fire Inspections, Access Control Cloud Services). Follow up on opportunities with 3rd party services such as Alarmnet 360, Virtual Keypad, and Alarm.com o Communication loss, Sensor issues, potential marketing options. Go through Sedona and reach out to customers who have not been active or contacted over the last year. Introduce new products and services such as Video Monitoring (emphasizing features and benefits) to established customers, in close conjunction with their Security Consultant. 2. Prospect, with assistance and/or direction of Sales Manager, in a targeted approach by vertical markets (may include calling and meeting with; churches, retail stores, c-stores, manufacturing facilities, etc.). Actively review lead opportunities through social media sources. Meet with key and strategic partners in the region developing new projects. 3. Provide sales support for customer inquiries. Assist with response and follow-up to requests from both internal staff and external customers. This may include the needs for information, quotations, contract renewals, system modifications, call list requests, upgrades, add-ons, moves, relocations, and cancellations, etc. Ensure thorough and accurate completion of purchase agreements, contracts, order forms, and all other paperwork related to the sale. Submit paperwork to support staff to initiate installation in a timely manner. 4. Field and assist with generation of new sales opportunities; track and distribute to appropriate Security consultant. Maintain and expand the database of prospects through screening of inbound leads, identifying needs, contacts and decision makers, and tracking follow-through and outcomes. Assist with sales projects, special campaigns and marketing promotions. Active on Podium daily, responding to inquiries. Lead tracking through software sales systems. 5. Maintain job knowledge through ongoing sales training; attend all vendor visits, review professional publications, and participate in networking opportunities. 6. Assist the Sales Manager and Marketing/Communications Manager as needed. Some lifting may be is necessary when transporting demo equipment. Weights of objects rarely exceed ten (10) pounds. Driving and traveling is required. Working Conditions Part of the workday is spent in a comfortable office environment, while some part of the workday is spent outdoors traveling to and from customer locations. On average during the week, it is expected that three to four days will be spent inside of the office performing job functions while one to two days will be outside of the office developing new business opportunities.
