Henry Ford Health System IT Program Manager | IT | Full Time in Rochester Hills, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Working under general direction, responsible for the management of a program of multiple interdependent projects and provides a single point of accountability for that program. Oversees all aspects of assigned programs throughout project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. Ensures accurate allocations of resources throughout the program. Leads multi-disciplinary teams, composed of various levels of personnel, vendors, and clients to create and deploy successful programs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and implements program definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for multiple interdependent projects. Prepares detailed statements of work and gains concurrence and approval from stakeholders regarding various project aspects and adjusts accordingly. Participates in delivery assurance reviews to ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures.

  • Manages and oversees the organization and performance of certain functional areas and the activities of principals, advisors and team members. Provides staff management and guidance with an understanding and following of established company policies and procedures.

  • Manages and ensures delivery of projects/programs to meet client and company expectations and needs. Creates, recommends and implements project/program improvements to meet established objectives.

  • Participates with senior management in developing new business proposals.

  • Assists in the development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans. Develops and recommends variances. Assists with and/or oversees budget analysis.

  • Coordinates and communicates with other managers to leverage resources and discuss solutions to problems. Develops processes with senior management for leveraging and using resources to meet organizational needs. Investigates and resolves matters of significance as appropriate.

  • Manages and organizes project and task workloads and selects individuals most qualified for assignments.

  • Engages and maintains written and verbal communications with the customer, management and staff to ensure program is delivered on time and within budget and/or contractual obligations.

  • Drives the program and projects to make sure that the critical issues/dependencies are identified, resolved or escalated to make sure that the program is delivered successfully.

  • Capable of getting into technical or functional details of program or project, if need be, to better understand and help resolve the issue.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Ten (10) years of project management experience. Seven (7) years project management experience in a Healthcare setting preferred

  • Experience working with a project management methodology.

  • Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant to area.

  • Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.

  • Experience in IT system implementations and/or system maintenance activities.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
