Job Title: CNC Machinist 2ND Shift

Job Description

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating various CNC machine tools, including horizontal and vertical mills, as well as some setup. The role involves keeping the CNC machine tools running efficiently and ensuring the quality of parts being produced. The machinist must be capable of adjusting offsets, changing inserts and cutting tools, and understanding speeds, feeds, and surface call outs of machined parts. Adherence to safety procedures and maintaining cleanliness and fluid levels around the machines are also essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate various CNC machine tools, including horizontal and vertical mills. HAAS and Okumas

• Ensure the continuous operation and efficiency of CNC machine tools.

• Check the quality of parts being produced and operate multiple machine tools simultaneously.

• Adjust offsets and locations, and change inserts and cutting tools as necessary.

• Gain and apply full knowledge of speeds, feeds, and surface call outs of machined parts.

• Adhere to and follow company safety procedures, ensuring safe operation of all machinery.

• Perform cleanup in and around the machines and maintain proper fluid levels.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Utilize common machine shop measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to inspect and qualify machined parts.

• Knowledge of machine shop practices.

• Clear and timely communication of any machining errors and corrective actions.

• Ability to lift approximately up to 35 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year of machining experience or trade school training.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
