Outreach Development Corporation Family Service Coordinator in Ridgewood, New York

Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position FT Family Services Coordinator to work in Outreach House I, our adolescent residential substance use disorder treatment program located in Ridgewood, NY. The Family Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the service delivery of all formats provided to both the adolescent and family members throughout the treatment episode. Schedule / Hours: Monday's & Fridays 9AM - 5PM; Tuesdays, Wednesday's, Thursday's 1PM - 9PM.

For this Queens, NY position the expected base salary is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 / year.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate parent participation in the following formats: Initial family sessions, Parent Support Group, Multi Group, Family Sessions, Phone contact/support and assistance.

  • Development of family focused treatment plans with residents.

  • Facilitate letter group and gain information on the family system from the resident’s perspective.

  • Facilitate Post Pass group.

  • Provide individual sessions with clients and families as indicated.

  • Facilitate Chemical Dependency Education group for families.

  • Participate in weekly clinical formats, such as case conference, Department Head meetings, Package meeting.

  • Provide crisis intervention with residents and/or their parents including scheduling and facilitating re-assessments.

  • Supervise part-time Family Coordinator, Family Case Manager and graduate school interns.

  • Coordinate parent telephone list, sign in forms and multi-family session schedule.

  • Coordinate the screening, editing and response to incoming and outgoing letters.

  • Plan, organize and attend special family events including Thanksgiving celebration, Winter Holiday, etc.

  • Contact families by phone or letter, as needed.

  • Facilitate phone calls home for resident, as needed.

  • Screen, edit, and respond to incoming and outgoing letters to/from clients/parents.

  • Work one Saturday out of the month to provide support to the resident community and to the Substance Abuse Counselors (Note: Will be given another day off during the week).

    Who You Are:

  • Experience working with adolescents

  • Experience working in residential treatment .

  • 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience working with clients with co-occurring and mental health problems

  • 1-2 years of experience working in in an OASAS funded facility a plus

  • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome driven performance measures.

  • Excellent organizational management skills with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance clinicians, set and achieve program objectives.

  • Strong networking and public relations skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures.

  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

  • Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus.

  • Clean and valid driver’s license required.

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
