Work you'll do/Responsibilities

• Application Development: Maintain and enhance existing VB6 applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.

• Database Integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support application functionality.

• Performance Tuning: Monitor and improve the performance of VB6 applications and SQL Server databases.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to VB6 applications and SQL Server databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VB6 applications and database configurations.

• Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, database administrators, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Migration Support: Assist in planning and executing migration projects from VB6 to modern technologies when required.

• Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

Qualifications

Required

• 7 years of experience with VB6 applications

• 7 years of experience with SQL Queries

• Experience working with SQL Server Databases

• Experience with migration projects from VB6 to modern technologies

• Health Plan and EDI X12 experience

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
