Summarized Purpose:

Contributes to the achievement of financial and business objectives through accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting for complex projects/assignments. Works cross-functionally with operations, commercial finance, and finance to resolve issues related to any of the following: revenue, costs, contract values, billing, balance sheet management, financial reporting, financial tools and processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment

  • Recognize revenue in LIMS system and provide revenue recognition support to other team members

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial report

  • Lead regular Balance Sheet Analysis which includes but not limited to unbilled/deferred schedule review and analysis and work with related parties to make sure timely billing

  • Provides decision-making support to management in assessing and minimizing the risk on revenue and gross profit and/or balances associated with assigned balance sheet accounts and/or financial processes and tools.

  • Evaluate efficiency /effectiveness of accounting processes and make recommendation to automate or optimize

  • Lead internal control projects as assigned or developed and provide training to others

  • Support internal and external audit requirements

  • Adapt to industry trends, adopt best practices, and embrace emerging technologies to lead creative solutions for continuous improvement

Keys to Success

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Project leadership and consultancy skills with ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients

  • Sophisticated knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices, for roles with more accounting focus a professional accounting qualification – ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent will be an advantage

  • Ability to apply sophisticated knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis

  • Good business acumen with ability to understand sophisticated interpersonal structures and environments

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

  • Sophisticated level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data, for roles with more technical focus previous experience with SharePoint / VBA / SQL / Power BI / RPA (comparable to 2+ years) will be an advantage

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity

  • Proven executive presence and good presentation skills

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle)
