Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

At Capital One, we attempt to deliver break away experience for our customers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the total company marketing budget and customer rewards liability. These total over $11B in value and are central to many of our strategies. This role provides opportunity to be a thought leader and see how choices we are making across the company impact our marketing spend and rewards redemption options for customers.

Roles require strong leadership, problem solving strategic thinking, communication (verbal and presentations) and influencing skills in order to effectively:

  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights

  • Partner with business leadership to assess the financial implications ofchoices

  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences

General Responsibilities:

  • Financial analysis & reporting: Accurately analyze & explain key drivers and monthly variances, suggest actions to the business, and manage the regular reporting process

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management

  • Executive business presentations: Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences; clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams

  • Ad-hoc requests and special projects

  • Independently manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks

  • Manage and develop associates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in financial analysis

  • At least 3 years’ experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

  • 5+ years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function

  • 2+ years of people management experience

  • 1+ year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
