Eaton Corporation Senior Electrical Engineer in Richmond, Virginia

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position will be located at our Richmond, VA facility.

Relocation benefits and sponsorship will be provided within the United States only.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with overall manufacturing processes. This position will communicate and support engineering team, designers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with overall manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and maintain documentation and schematics for electrical systems.

  • Develop electrical aspects of power distribution & monitoring products, per approved engineering specifications.

  • Support planning and testing and Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification of new and existing products.

  • Communicate and support engineering team, designers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

  • Prepare cost reduction proposals for new and existing products based on cost trades, design improvements and Value-Added Value Engineering (VAVE) process.

  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs concepts, tool drawings and shop orders in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing functions.

  • Work with Production to find more efficient methods of producing work.

  • Execute project activities with cross functional teams.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering role (internship included)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Autodesk Vault, or similar programs.

  • Experience in design and of electrical systems and preparation of electrical drawings (schematics, powerflow, one line, etc)

  • Knowledge of high-power product design

  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics, and power conversion topologies

  • Ability to read technical documents and drawing
