Eurofins Principal Scientist – LC LCMS in Richmond, Virginia

Principal Analytical Scientist – LC and LCMS:
Carry out routine LC and LCMS methods in an ISO17025 accredited analytical production lab as part of an insourced services operation. Serve as Subject Matter Expert in the area of LC and LCMS technology for the team.
Serve as technical liaison to the client and laboratory leadership team. Perform advanced instrument and method troubleshooting; implement solutions.
Work closely with the client and the team to develop, optimize, and transfer new methods into routine production.
Collaborate with QA and Special Projects Team to resolve issues and challenges impacting routine production. Lead the efforts of implementing continuous improvement projects by documenting ideas, prioritizing projects, documenting projects, maintaining the status, and communicating status to client and lab stakeholders.
Mentor and train junior analysts.
Perform instrument calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, recognize-errors, identify root causes, maintain excellent working knowledge of instrumentation, and serve laboratory as an LC and LC/MS Specialist
Perform daily laboratory duties to include preparing samples, performing analysis, calculating data, recording/reporting data, performing general housekeeping in alignment with 5S standards, and performing other duties as assigned.
Meet all quality and productivity metrics
Apply the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility; maintain ISO 17025 quality standards and accreditation for the laboratory.
Review data, data notebooks, logbooks, and reports to ensure highest quality
Demonstrate strong client service skills

Support and promote company policies and procedures
Bachelors Degree in chemistry (or related discipline) with 10+ years of relevant, applicable laboratory experience
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred
In-depth, hands-on experience using LC and LCMS laboratory instrumentation and experience with production laboratory operations
In-depth experience in method development, method transfers, instrument troubleshooting, method improvements, process improvements, and training/mentoring junior scientists
Experience working within an established quality system (ISO 17025 preferred)
Understanding of production laboratory operations
Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
