Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to join our team for the 1st shift. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining blending machines, ensuring the production of high-quality ink products. Your duties will include filling, canning, labeling, packaging, and cleaning machine parts and equipment. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Fill, can, and label ink canisters.

  • Package and label products.

  • Clean machine parts and equipment after production.

  • Weigh materials and start the mixer for blending.

  • Read batches/recipes, weigh and add materials to machines.

  • Update computer systems with relevant production data.

  • Assist with manufacturing products and adjusting machines.

  • Ensure all production activities comply with established quality standards and procedures.

  • Report potential safety hazards.

  • Maintain neat and orderly facility areas.

  • Ship and receive products.

  • Deliver ink using the company truck.

  • Accountability and dependability (attendance).

  • Ability to operate machinery with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics, production, machine operation, general labor, material handling, batch mixing, machine operating, inspection, blending, or quality control is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment has a strong smell of ink and is located in a loading dock area. You will be on your feet 95% of the day and should be able to work unplanned overtime. The facility operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some overtime as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
