Robert Half Lead Tax Accountant in Richmond, Virginia

Description

TAX Senior Lead - Immediate opening - Richmond, VA. The focus of this role is to provide expert tax accounting services, interpret tax laws, maintain tax records, and offer training to other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the process of tax accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and general accounting practices.

• Conducting comprehensive research on complex tax issues and formulating recommendations for management.

• Utilizing knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP software to manage and maintain accurate tax records.

• Providing technical assistance and training to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Preparing general tax research memorandums and communicating findings in a clear and concise manner.

• Coordinating the completion of multiple work assignments and/or projects, ensuring operational deadlines are met.

• Providing critical feedback and conducting peer reviews for assigned work tasks.

• Demonstrating attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all work assignments.

• Utilizing skills in Corporate Tax, Corporate Tax Compliance, Corporate Tax Return, and Annual Income Tax Provision to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax processes.

• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action based on the findings.

Requirements • Possess significant experience in the role of a Tax Accountant, preferably in a leadership position.

• Demonstrated expertise in Corporate Tax, Corporate Tax Compliance, Corporate Tax Return, and Annual Income Tax Provision.

• Ability to interpret and apply complex tax legislation and guidance.

• Proven track record of managing and delivering on multiple projects concurrently.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

• Proficiency in using tax software and other relevant computer applications.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work independently.

• Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws and regulations.

• Experience in liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.
