Insight Global IT Tech Lead in Richmond, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Help Desk Technician to join our top chemical client. The role has an unspecified work authorization. The salary range is $60,000-$75,000. This person will provide a wide range of support and customer service on various hardware and software issues. As a Lead IT Technician, you will support computer user productivity and environment and focus on resolution of computer software and hardware problems. This position requires you to mentor and train junior staff, experience managing and leading a team is required. Additional responsibilities below:

1. Leadership Responsibilities:

* Manage and coordinate the scheduling of shifts for IT technicians, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal resource allocation.

* Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or critical technical issues, providing guidance and support to team members in resolving these challenges.

* Mentor and train junior IT staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.

* Lead by example in adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.

* Regularly review and assess team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.

2. Collaborate with management to identify and implement improvements in IT support processes and service delivery.Ticket Management:

* Create, manage, respond to, and troubleshoot IT support tickets through email, phone, and in-person interactions.

* Prioritize and resolve tickets based on urgency and impact on business operations.

* Maintain detailed records of all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions.

3. User Account Management:

* Unlock user accounts and reset passwords as needed.

* Ensure security protocols are followed when handling account-related tasks.

* Provide guidance to users on best practices for account management and security.

4. Asset Management:

* Responsible for the tracking, distribution, and retrieval of IT assets.

* Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate records of received and issued assets.

* Assist in the procurement and disposal of IT hardware and software.

5. Technical Support:

* Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.

* Collaborate with other IT professionals to escalate and resolve complex problems.

* Provide on-site technical support when necessary.

6. Communication:

* Communicate effectively with end-users to gather information and provide updates on the status of their support requests.

* Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and improve overall support efficiency.

7. Imaging and Deployment:

* Deploy and configure computers, ensuring that they meet organizational standards and user requirements.
