Human Resources Generalist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the HR department and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions.

This position will use its broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to evaluation, promoting HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supports recruitment and onboarding to ensure new hire paperwork is completed accurately and timely as requested.

  • Ensures all terminations are handled promptly.

  • Ensure that company policy is followed and legal obligations to employees are met to minimize risk to the Company and maximize employee morale.

  • Conducts regular audits (2 x per year) to ensure wages paid are correct in payroll to avoid overpayments or underpayment of wages.

  • Interpret policies and programs in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws.

  • Be willing to take a lead or supporting role in various HR projects, such as site administrative programs, compliance reviews, and employment labor law changes.

  • Help organize training and development initiatives.

  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.

  • Undertake tasks around Performance Management Program

  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.

  • Assist with implementation of annual employee performance reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred

  • Proven experience in HR functions such as employee recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and relations

  • Familiarity with human capital management practice

  • Proficiency in data entry and HR software systems like Paychex and Workday

  • Knowledge of leaves of absence regulations and compliance requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
