Robert Half Fixed Asset Accountant in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be expected to handle data analysis, financial reporting, and accounting operations related to fixed assets, leased assets, and Subscription-Based IT arrangements. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Improve financial results through accurate financial reporting and data analysis.

• Enhance operational effectiveness by utilizing tools for data gathering and analysis.

• Balance transaction processing and reporting with planning and anticipating future changes.

• Transform financial processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of overall operations.

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data related to fixed assets, leased assets, and Subscription-Based IT Arrangements.

• Apply knowledge of GASB 34 accounting requirements for fixed assets, GASB 87 accounting requirements for leased assets, GASB 96 requirements for Subscription-Based IT Arrangements and GASB 100 related to accounting changes and error corrections.

• Utilize accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning tools to perform accounting functions.

• Create custom SQL reports with financial data.

• Apply accrued accounting principles and follow budget processes.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Requirements • Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Profound understanding of Accounting Functions

• Knowledgeable in Accrual Accounting

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Expertise in Fixed Asset Accounting

• Experience with Lease Accounting

• Familiarity with GASB standards

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
