Cath lab technicians are cardiovascular technologists who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart, and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids.

*Essential Duties:*

• Sets up trays and equipment appropriate to procedure
• Scrubs and assists physician with catheter, wire and balloon exchanges
• Operates cineradiographic equipment, moving camera to appropriate and desired positions
• Applies proper radiation safety techniques to ensure the safety of the patient, physician and staff
• Ensures proper image acquisition and archival
• Documents hemodynamic data during procedures
• Operates Point of care testing equipment
• Able to operate a variety of diagnostic equipment including IABP, IVUS, FFR, etc
• Able to work in a stressful environment with acutely ill patients
• Able to communicate effectively to others in written and verbal forms
• Able to respond to Stemi call alerts within 30 minutes
• Participates as a team member and is accountable for their own work
• Participates in Quality Improvement Activities

*Education:* Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or cardiovascular technology program.

*Certifications:* BLS and ACLS certification required.

*Experience:* Minimum of 1 year experience - Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and/or Special Procedures experience is strongly preferred.
