As a BWR Fuel Mechanical Analysis Engineering Supervisor in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Mechanical Design & PWR Product Engineering organization in the Fuel Business Unit which is responsible for a broad range of activities including fuel rod and control component design, materials development, manufacturing support, and fuel performance code development. The engineering activities are coordinated with other Framatome fuel engineering departments both locally and worldwide. Your work will include: Leading a team of talented engineers to help fulfill the mission of ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective BWR fuel. Your team will focus on performing various mechanical/structural evaluations to support fuel licensing and performance and will also contribute to the development of new innovative fuel designs and analytical methods. Plan, schedule, organize, and direct the work of the individuals in the group. Making work assignments for group members. Supervise workflow to ensure deliverables are safe, high quality, on time, and within budget. Ensure working level compliance with procedures, standards, and design control process. Ensure application of the Product, Materials, Codes & Methods strategies in their group. Providing technical oversight of group work products, facilitating resolution of technical issues. Reporting progress, identifying impediments and issues up to management. Mediating and driving to resolution of personnel conflicts. Participates in the creation of goals and objectives for the team. Monitors goals, objectives, and standards of performance for assigned team members. Performing personnel reviews. Facilitating professional growth of group members. Interviewing potential new hires, making recommendations relative to hiring. Oversee the onboarding of new team members. Works on special projects, as directed. Facilitating the interface between groups within the company to complete customer projects. Support Fuels proposal efforts, including coordination of multi-disciplinary work scopes.
