Amentum Radiological Control Engineer I in Richland, Washington
Develops health physics, radiological engineering, dosimetry, bioassay, assessment or instrumentation processes for projects or programs, and/or operating facilities under the direction of assigned supervisor. With oversight, plans work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of health physics and radiological engineering techniques, controls procedures, and criteria. Devises new cost-effective approaches to solving problems.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment
Provide technical support for assigned aspects of Radiological Control Program implementation to assure WTP requirements regarding radiation exposure to site personnel and the general public are followed
Promptly resolve program implementation issues by teaming with WTP management and facility staff to identify compliant, cost-effective solutions
Serve as a subject area technical expert for assigned topics
Develop/review technical documents and procedures for assigned subject areas
Provide guidance and information to facility staff on emerging issues pertaining to Radiological Control Program implementation
Support the resolution of corrective actions and assist in the investigation of radiological incidents

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics or related science.
Experience:
- Possesses basic knowledge of health physics with entry-level knowledge of applied health physics/radiation protection principles and practices, standards and requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,393.70 - $114,972.97 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
