Location: Richland, Washington Title: Project Control Support Specialist IV Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time Travel Required: No Clearance: Ability to Obtain North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company's focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services. POSITION PURPOSE: The Project Controls Support Specialist supports management, Project Managers (PMs), and project teams in the planning, organizing, reporting, and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure successful completion of projects on time and within budget. This role works closely with customers and corporate functionals on the development and delivery of project deliverables. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with customers, corporate functionals, and project teams during project setup, execution, and closeout Assist PMs and the project team in effectively and proactively managing projects to ensure project success Assist in the development and delivery of project reports to internal and external customers and project teams Provide process, technical and analytic guidance and support to the project team Develop, review, and submit project and project cost deliverables while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards Seek continuous improvement and enhancements of current project management methodologies. Help streamline communications to the project team Participate in project meetings and reviews Interface with standard business systems Communicate regularly with customers and key stakeholders Train, review and delegate tasks as necessary Other responsibilities as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Associate's Degree and/or PMI certification 3-5 years of project support/project controls or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills; work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and customers Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond effectively and sensitively to questions from customers, managers, and project teams Advanced MS Excel abilities including but not limited to, formulas, pivot tables, importing from other software types (i.e. Deltek Cost Point) Initiative to solve problems Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and make decisions, exercise good judgment, work under pressure, work with minimal supervision and prioritize workload Ability to work well in a remote team environment Special Requirements: Must pass pre-employment background check Must pass pre-employment drug screening Applicants are required to have REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at time of hire and nothing on record that would prohibit you from gaining access to Department of Energy sites Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a DOE "L" clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with project controls processes and project management software Deltek Cost Point experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time in an office environment (home or site) but will also be required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
