Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Expert Engineer position will be responsible for ensuring the technical adequacy of engineering work by reviewing and approving design changes, calculations, and technical documents. This role involves defining and managing major engineering programs, providing technical leadership, and mentoring engineering personnel. As a senior authority, the position will offer consultation on complex system problems, lead corrective actions, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to the development of advanced engineering methods and practices. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay rate: $62.06 - $103.44

Responsibilities:
- Review and approve design changes, calculations, analyses, licensing documents, system health reports, and other technical documents to ensure technical adequacy and compliance with procedures.
- Lead and manage major engineering programs or discipline groups, providing technical leadership and oversight with minimal guidance from management.
- Ensure engineering work is completed in a technically sound manner, meeting quality standards and cost-effectiveness criteria.
- Offer broad, in-depth technical guidance to discipline engineering personnel, actively engaging in current engineering issues and coordinating multidisciplinary efforts.
- Provide consultation and guidance in resolving complex system and component issues that require integration of multiple technical factors.
- Identify potential design, quality, or operational problems and initiate corrective actions in accordance with the plant's Corrective Action (CR) process.
- Provide consultation on code or standards requirements, design and analysis methods, and licensing requirements as needed for tasks assigned to the discipline group.
- Ensure that actions related to engineering tasks are properly documented in engineering procedures and standards.
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art engineering methods and practices to meet engineering missions and contribute to the company's reputation through technical publications or professional society involvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or Applied Science from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or an advanced degree.
- 12 years of discipline-specific engineering experience, with at least seven years related to nuclear power.
- Applicants must pass a background investigation with heightened security clearance.
- Unescorted Access (Green badge 1 or 2) may be required, depending on the individual's basis for action in the Personal Access Database System (PADS).
- Mandatory completion of a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ).
- Valid (non-expired) state-issued driver's license/identification card or U.S. Passport.
- Fitness for Duty drug and alcohol screening.
- Criminal history submission (fingerprints) to the FBI, with review of results against the completed PHQ.
