At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our Business Assurance organization is seeking a Co-Op Business Process Compliance Specialist. The duties may include, but are not limited to: * Perform internal assessments of CPCCo Business Systems and programs * Assist with the documentation of a risk assessment of the business systems and functional areas in conjunction with the functional area managers * Assist with the documentation of the internal control framework and review of internal controls for operational effectiveness * Assist with corrective action management including coordination with CPCCo project and support personnel, as well as DOE personnel to identify, track, and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence of deficiencies * Contribute to cause evaluations of identified adverse conditions and events * Contribute to the performance of extent of condition and effectiveness reviews in support of the issues management process * Interface with internal and external customers to answer inquires and resolve issues and observations * Gain an understanding of floor check procedure and assist with performing employee floor checks * Assist with obtaining and analyzing operating expense support * Provide a broad range of compliance and assurance related support to the department working within established procedures and desk guides Basic Qualifications * At least 18 years of age. * Actively enrolled in a full-time degree program that relates to CPCCo, with emphasis in specific disciplines that support the cleanup mission and aligns with the critical skills and job assignment requirements. * Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college enrollment. * Currently enrolled with either Washington State University, Tri-Cities (WSU-TC), Columbia Basin College (CBC), or any online student living local to the Tri-Cities, WA. * Students will be sophomore, junior, or senior and enrolled full-time, as determined by the institution. * Willing and able to work 15-40 hours a week on a Monday - Thursday, 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. schedule. * Currently pursuing a degree in: Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline. Compensation & Benefits Starting rate is based on academic standing and field of degree, ranging from an hourly rate of $20.00 to $26.70 plus an additional $4.57 health & welfare adder in accordance with the Service Contract Act.
