Raytheon is hiring a Java Software Engineer II to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.

What You Will Do

• Opportunity to use your understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object Oriented architecture.

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.

• Demonstrate your critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience in Java Software Development.

• Object Oriented experience.

• Software Integration and Troubleshooting experience

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date, and t he ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI poly security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Python development experience

• Mission Management, Command and Control experience

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• Large legacy systems and micro services experience

• Agile development methodologies experience

• Experience with Agile toolsets (e.g. Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, etc.).

• DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) experience

• Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies.

• Experience building automated tests.

• Experience upgrading COTS/FOSS

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
