Job Summary:

The Software Infrastructure group is seeking a Platform Team Lead to ensure the successful delivery of a Private Cloud Infrastructure for one of our premier programs on our Richardson, TX campus.

As the Platform Team Lead, you will be leading a multi-disciplined team (Compute, Network and Storage) through implementation, integration, and tests effort, while meeting or exceeding scheduled milestones. Additionally, in this role you will be responsible for management of schedules, proposal preparation, the creation and review of design/implementation documentation, identifying/managing Risks & Opportunities and will service as an Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME).

This position is an onsite role in Richardson, TX

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Work directly with Systems Engineering, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead and Program Leadership to determine the appropriate prioritization and implementation of Task Orders.

  • Coordinate needs and priorities of subcontract efforts specific to the implementations with Technical and Program Subcontract Management.

  • Adhere to the program risk management process to include soliciting inputs to identify / mitigate risks and identify / capture opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with the program’s discrepancy / problem reporting and review process.

  • Manage labor and material costs, implementation schedules and external team coordination to ensure infrastructure implementations are in accordance with the scope of the contract requirements.

  • Participate in program risk and opportunity management process by identifying risks and opportunities and then developing and actively managing the mitigation/capture plans.

  • Identify, collect, and analyze metrics to drive continues process improvement.

  • You will collaborate with Customer and Program Management.

  • Current CompTIA Sec+ Certification.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI POLY clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience working in a technical environment interfacing with systems, software, or hardware engineering disciplines.

  • Experience multi-discipline knowledge (Compute, Network, Storage, Operating Systems, Virtualization).

  • Experience determining the root cause of issues and the best path to resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Certifications in any of the following:

  • Virtualization (specifically VMware).

  • Microsoft Windows.

  • RedHat Linux.

  • Storage (Netapp, Dell).

  • Networking (Juniper, Extreme).

  • Would like to have someone that is able to utilize out of the box thinking to resolve issues.

  • Knowledge of problem management and Service Now.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
