Specifically, the Job Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading multiple departments on all job activities required to support production processes. The Job Shop Supervisor will have direct contact with employees and supervisors for proper instruction. These activities include but are not limited to: Supervising assigned departments of 10-25 leads and employees. Maintaining the overall management of the assigned department including all aspects of current operation to assure acceptable safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, employee conduct and performance criteria are achieved. Other responsibilities: Training, instructing, evaluating and supervising employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands Read and understand blue prints, engineered drawings, welding symbols, and/or verbal and written instructions to accurately distribute daily assignments Organize workloads and determine priorities based on the production schedule Establish employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate work instruction and tools to successfully do their job Troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements Monitor all activity of department shop floor, giving hands on assistance as needed Issue purchase requisitions and communicate with vendors for department related needs Reconcile and approve truck invoices and company credit card purchases within departments Responsible for interviewing candidates with HR, training, terminating, disciplining and coaching employees Attend scheduled meetings and collaborate ideas and decisions with team members Maintain proper documentation and reports of all issues and activities Follow and enforce all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures.
