ICF Technical Writer / Videographer in Reston, Virginia

Description

ICF’s Training and Communication Team is seeking a motivated Senior Technical Writer/Videographer to support multiple scrum-based agile software development teams.  In this role, you'll work closely with members of the product team (product owner, business analysts, developers, training and QA) to develop quality documentation, videos, and other training resources. If you're a detail-oriented Tech Writer/Videographer, please apply!

Key *Responsibilities: *

  • Design, build, write and maintain flexible and modular digital documentation and eLearning courses for role-specific training experience 

  • Create short videos for technical learning content, including design, storyboard and voiceover 

  • Ensure content is consistent across all deliverables 

  • Consult with subject matter experts to obtain information required to complete assigned deliverables. 

Basic *Qualifications: *

  • Associate's degree plus 8+ years of experience as a technical writer  

  • One year of experience in: MS Office Suite, Adobe Captivate or similar software, Adobe Pro, Confluence, JIRA 

  • One or more years of professional videography experience in Captivate or similar, to include creating and editing video content

  • Must have reliable high-speed internet connection 

  • Per Federal contract: must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the previous 5 years; United States residency required; and must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.  

Preferred *Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience as a technical writer 

  • Experience working on Agile development projects 

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry and/or Federal government contracting experience 

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into easily understood text, video, and/or graphics; ability to quickly comprehend technical concepts and explain these concepts to a non-technical audience 

  • Experience working on a cross-functional, diverse and distributed development team in a remote capacity

  • Ability to work independently and multitask on a wide variety of high-priority tasks simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and structuring skills; time management skills; organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced software development environment 

  • Expert-level skills in MS Office Suite

  • Proficiency in creating video learning content.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$69,862.00 - $118,765.00
