ICF Communications and Outreach Specialist in Reston, Virginia

Description

ICF seeks a full-time Communications and Outreach Specialist to support the Department of Justice in planning, implementing, and coordinating a variety of training and technical assistance (TTA) tasks, including webinars, in person and virtual meetings, trainings, and working group sessions. Will work closely with client staff, partner organizations, subject matter experts, and contractors/grantees to collaborate on client-supported projects. Facilitate conversations to cultivate a community amongst partners on client-related work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the client in planning, implementing, and coordinating a variety of TTA tasks, including annual meetings, training sessions, and work group meetings.

  • Facilitate webinars and meetings and encourage discussion of priority topics.

  • Work closely with the client and staff from partner organizations, including contractors and grantees, other government agencies, and victim service organizations.

  • Participate in regular project meetings at the client site and offsite, share information effectively with the client and its partners (i.e., contractors, grantees, and other government agencies), and collaborate on projects in support of the client, even when such projects may be led by another contractor or organization.

  • Brainstorm and coordinate opportunities for engagement with key constituents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, business administration, public policy, economics, political science, communications, planning, statistics, technology and policy, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in event planning for Federal government agencies, including event preparation, event registration, responding to general inquiries, providing logistical support, site selection, onsite meeting support, and compilation and basic analysis of evaluation forms/reports.

  • Minimum 4 years of directly relevant work experience in the criminal justice or victim services field.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Certified Government Meeting Professional

  • Experience with event and meeting planning funded by the Department of Justice.

  • Experience working seamlessly with other contractors or vendors.

  • Experience in management, marketing, leadership, planning and presentations.

  • Familiarity with federal travel regulations.

Professional Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to produce high quality work.

  • Ability to be flexible, detail-oriented, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to listen actively and empathetically.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently.

  • Strong outreach abilities and interpersonal skills.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
