UL, LLC Commercial Technology Manager in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week based out of Northbrook, IL or Research Triangle Park, NC

Are you passionate about Commercial Technology, seeing the big picture of where we are, where we need to go, and how to get there? UL Solutions is looking for a Commercial Technology Manager to lead the team focused on defining and owning the roadmap for Commercial Technology investments needed, building business cases for Capital Committee approvals, and ongoing management of Commercial Tech infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations, this role will work cross-functionally within the Commercial Excellence organization to build roadmaps for the Commercial Technology stack, assessing needs around people, process, technology, and resources to support the sustained growth and ongoing maturity of technology and needed capabilities. This exciting role is part of a team driving digital transformation in the technology space, helping the organization implement and leverage technology to support business growth across the commercial teams.

  • Manage commercial technology stack providing recommendations for system additions, enhancements, or upgrades.

  • Monitor the latest advancements in commercial technologies and tools. Evaluate and recommend new technology options and resources for implementation.

  • Build, maintain and leverage strong cross-functional partnerships at multiple levels across the organization with business units, client services, sales, operations, and finance

  • Work cross-functionally to build business cases for new commercial technology initiatives assessing people, process and technology.

  • Manage ROI profiles on all technology along with capabilities matrix and maturity benchmarks.

  • Partner with relevant stakeholders for data privacy and governance matters

  • Lead activities required to assure various technologies are meeting/exceeding the needs of the relevant user population

  • Directly partner with marketing team to align marketing strategies with appropriate sales capabilities as part of the coordinated plan.

  • Manages the performance of direct or indirect reports by defining accountability, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to

  • Support sales/commercial system integrations and migrations for acquired companies.

  • Manage analytics to support team performance objectives

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education

  • 7+ years of related discipline experience

  • Functional knowledge of commercial technologies & tools including Salesforce CRM, Oracle CPQ, Pricing tools

  • Sufficient IT knowledge to identify and manage needed infrastructure support and software support solutions.

  • Demonstrates effective collaboration and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

  • Good knowledge of emerging technologies and understanding of digital transformation & innovation

  • Strong facilitation, project planning and management

  • Strong business acumen and strategic skills

  • Experience managing budgets and able to perform financial analysis
