Generac Power Systems Staff Product Manager - Load Management in Reno, Nevada

Generac Clean Energy Team is continuing to grow. We are seeking a Staff Product Manager for our residential load management products. In this role you will spearhead the definition, development, and launch of load management functions across our residential product ecosystem. This includes overseeing internal products such as PWRmanager, PWRcell, and integrations with our ecobee and EV charging products.

This role will be based our of our Center of Excellence in Reno NV. Alternatively, we can consider a remote candidate within the US.

Key Responsibilities:

Define product strategy and roadmap for residential load management solutions

Guide cross-functional teams through product development lifecycle

Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to maintain product leadership

Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to ensure product success

Gather and prioritize product requirements based on customer needs and market opportunities

Conduct user research and translate insights into product features

Oversee product launches and post-launch performance

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree engineering, Electrical or Mechancial

6+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in IoT

Strong understanding of residential energy products (e.g., energy storage, smart panels, thermostats)

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL 916)

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with agile development methodologies

MBA or advanced degree in a related field

Previous experience in the renewable energy or smart home industry

Passion for consumer products and critical thinking skills

Empathy for homeowners and installers

Enthusiasm for driving innovation in residential energy management

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
