SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of the Property Surveillance Observer to maintain a consistent training program on all Surveillance Standard Operating Procedures as well as outside properties owned by the Meruelo Group, LLC. Follows all operating procedures, safety regulations, and Grand Sierra Casinos' Surveillance Department policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in Law Enforcement, security, or surveillance systems operations.

ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to apply common sense to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and write. Ability to communicate in group as well as one-on-one situations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Utilize necessary equipment to identify, record, document and report illegal andunusual activities occurring in all outside areas as well as possible properties ownedby Meruelo Group, LLC.
  • Report all illegal and unusual activities to the appropriate authorities andmanagement.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Observers are required to maintain a consistent and continuous self education
  • program, in preparation to acquire job knowledge.
  • Observer must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and give directives to the Security
  • Department and/or other outside agencies when needed.
  • Observer must be able to make quick and accurate decisions and relay pertinent
  • information to the appropriate personnel.Promotes the following within the department and among all Employees/Departments:
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all Employees, by settingpositive examples at all times.
  • Instills an atmosphere which encourages Employees to share ideas, discuss concernsand resolve conflicts.
