Eaton Corporation Material Handler - Forklift Driver in Reno, Nevada

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler - Forklift Driver.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.25 per hour.

In this function, you will:

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods

• Load and unload trailers as required

• Pick and pull stock for delivery

• Organize pallet area in the backyard on a regular basis (assist during backyard attendant absence)

• Organize material storage locations in the backyard and inside the building regularly

• Complete daily forklift inspection

• Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.)

• Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.

• Keeps work areas clean and safe.

• Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:

• Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.

• Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals, and status to the shop floor.

• Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.

• Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

• 12+ months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.

Position Criteria:

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.

• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.

• Able to stand on feet continuously while working the shift.

• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
