Ranpak Maintenance Tech Supervisor in Reno, Nevada

Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising maintenance teams, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Maintenance Technicians, in various settings, including manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, and residential properties. They are responsible for ensuring that equipment and machinery are operating correctly and efficiently and managing maintenance schedules and budgets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and importance and allocate resources accordingly.

  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with clients, building owners, and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with the maintenance program.

  • Manage and oversee the procurement of parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs, ensuring that they are obtained at the best possible price and quality.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies, and ensure that it is regularly updated and accurate.

  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and service requests, to ensure that all work is documented and properly recorded.

  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking maintenance costs, including labor, materials, and other expenses, and report regularly on the status of the maintenance budget.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings and develop and implement strategies for achieving them.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements related to maintenance, and ensure that the maintenance program is in compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

  • Provide regular training and development opportunities for maintenance technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as operations, engineering, and safety, to ensure that the maintenance program is integrated with other business functions and initiatives.

  • Lead and supervise maintenance teams, including scheduling, training, and mentoring technicians.

  • Manage maintenance schedules and budgets.

  • Design and implement preventative maintenance plans to avoid future problems with machinery and systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies.

  • Operate advanced diagnostic equipment and use technical manuals to diagnose and repair machinery.

  • Develop and implement new systems and technologies for maintaining equipment and machinery.

  • Keep maintenance records up-to-date and report any issues or concerns to the management.

  • Participate in training and development programs to increase skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training in mechanical, electrical, or related field.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, SAP and related communication tools, maintenance scheduling software.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends if necessary.

Technical Demands

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read and interpret measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, scales.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Communication

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to provide and understand directions and expectations both verbally and written to/from team members.

Work Environment

Work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock conditions about 2/3rds of on-the-job time.Wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration conditions under 1/3rd of on-the-job time.Loud
