Microsoft Corporation Director — Transact Services Americas in Reno, Nevada

The Global Transact Services Team sits within Microsoft Operations Service Centre (OSC) in Microsoft Business Operations, and is responsible for successful and compliant processing of transactions and fulfilment of customer obligations for our most strategic accounts. We are hiring for a Director- Transact Services Americas to lead a team of talented operations professionals, in a mission critical role accountable for business success for month/quarter end deal close processing in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

The Director - Transact Services Americas leads a high-performing team, collaborates with other functional teams, partners, and field resources to deliver best in class, integrated transaction services and support experiences in the area of Quote to Cash (Q2C). You will be joining a fast-paced team that is focused on results, works together to solve problems, and is committed to developing people.

The Director - Transact Services Americas is an experienced people manager, comfortable working in a highly matrixed, multinational organization, exhibits outstanding organizational, planning, communication, judgement, and negotiation skills, uses data and analytics to drive performance insights and improvements and has proficient customer obsession and compliance focus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop & grow a high-performing team driving customer, field, and partner operational requirements & operational excellence into a managed service model. Attract, develop, and retain a diverse and high performing team that consistently produces value for the business.

  • Plan the team’s work to achieve goals and respond effectively to changing priorities, maintaining team energy and results.

  • Monitor operational performance and compliance of the Commercial business, outsourcing support activities, and change management initiatives ensuring achievement of business objectives.

  • Collaborate with other members of Operations Service Centre to deliver transaction services to customers, partners & internal field sellers promoting an end-to-end view and seamless experience.

  • Create and deliver performance metrics and scorecards representing the state of business.

  • Organizational leader that accelerates and delivers business transformation for Core Transact Services.

  • Deliver critical transaction forecasts to outsourcing partners for resource and capacity planning.

  • Support critical pre- & post-sales issues and escalations to resolution across stakeholders.

  • Drive partnership on end-to-end systems support and readiness with engineering stakeholders ensuring flawless execution on transaction activities and close cycles.

  • Ensure the OSC is always audit ready, assist internal and external auditors in audit planning/execution and drive compliance rigor and risk management.

  • Ability to establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships at upper levels across the business, and to influence these business partners to deliver optimum solutions for customers and for Microsoft.

  • Drive continuous process improvements via analysis and identification of opportunities with a global consideration.

  • Foster a data-driven and growth mindset culture; to encourage and enable the entire organization to make more informed decisions through data & business analytics, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience.

Preferred/ Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or MBA

  • Attention to detail and analytical problem solving, with strong judgement to make decisions in ambiguous situations.

  • Excellent communication skills and leader with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions, both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated excellence in thought leadership. innovations and execution management; ability to influence without authority

  • Experience in Business Process Outsourcing, managing outsourcing partners in a managed service model is a plus.

Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
