Position Summary

The Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the development and implementation of a “best in class” equipment reliability and preventive maintenance program across all the Company’s precast operations. The incumbent will oversee all Preventive, Predictive and Total Productive Maintenance processes across the Company’s operations.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Directs and collaboratively works with the plant maintenance teams to implement a total productive maintenance program.

  • Establishes annual maintenance budget plans based off the Company’s annual plan which will include an annual capital expenditure plan.

  • Ensures the proper introduction of new equipment by validating compliance with run rate standards while establishing & implementing a comprehensive total preventative maintenance system to drive equipment reliability.

  • Facilitates the evaluation and recommendation of new equipment to improve safety, add capacity or improve quality performance.

  • Research new equipment technology for future and current products.

  • Leads the design of process controls that will reduce variation and maximize process capability in current and future equipment.

  • Manages the creation of maintenance related SOP’s and work instructions by engaging site operations teams and machine tool suppliers.

  • Creates and manages enterprise-wide Critical Spare Parts Inventory to ensure critical path operation of the plants.

  • Leads the efforts in utilizing IFS as our CMMS platform to drive preventative & predictive maintenance while developing a robust reporting system to show progress of the initiative.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated history of success in maintenance management with a focus on equipment reliability and preventive maintenance on a large scale. Experience in precast or other heavy industrial setting is essential for success in this position. Other desired qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • 10+ years’ maintenance related experience in a heavy manufacturing, with 4+ years in a leadership role.

  • Leadership and management skills sufficient to effectively direct the efforts of maintenance teams across multiple plants with a blend of strategic agility and tactical performance to get the job done.

  • Ability to step in and directly support site maintenance management when required.

  • Strong aptitude to drive results through people engagement, with the ability to teach and demonstrate lean strategies and technology.

  • Experienced in the use of predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and sensor controls for lighting, power, and compressed air.

  • Experienced with PLC and Ladder Logic, and wireless smart factory technology.

  • Exposure to ERP and CMMS systems strongly preferred.

  • Ability to accommodate a 50%+ travel schedule to plant operations.
