SAIC Geospatial Systems Administrator in REMOTE WORK, District Of Columbia

Description

SAIC is seeking a Geospatial Cloud Systems Administrator to support the Department of interior GeoPlatform.gov enterprise environment. GeoPlatform is hosted in a geospatial AWS cloud hosting service and provides access to trusted geospatial data and web-based geospatial solutions using Esri-based and other geospatial products developed by various DOI and other Federal organizations.

The successful candidate provides geospatial cloud systems administration support for transition of approximately 40 cloud systems to team SAIC and subsequent operations and maintenance (O&M) of the geospatial cloud enterprise. The candidate performs systems configuration, monitoring, and optimization of Esri and other enterprise geospatial systems.

This role is fully remote and can be worked from anywhere in the United States.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance.

Required Technical Skills:

  • AWS Cloud (commercial and/or GovCloud) hosting system architecture and administration experience.

  • Extensive experience leading migration of applications from one organization to another within AWS.

  • Hands on experience maintaining geospatial cloud systems including ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Esri Kubernetes cluster, etc.) and other (e.g., MapBox) geospatial systems.

  • Implementing industry geospatial systems administration best practices for security, performance, cost, & resiliency in all aspects of design & implementation.

  • Experience monitoring geospatial system performance, optimizing systems, and preparing scripts to automate administration tasks

  • Experience with administration and management of VPCs, NACLs, NSGs, and DNS services.

  • Hands-on scripting experience with SQL and other scripting languages.

  • Hands-on experience performing geospatial systems and software administration activities including installation, configuration, installing patches, updates, and fixes, and implementing disaster recovery procedures.

Desired technical skills:

  • Experience with FedRAMP and Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), GeoPlatform, and other Federal geospatial data policies and procedures.

  • Hands on experience with geospatial database administration, configuration, and complexities of geospatial data.

  • Cloud, program management, and/or geospatial certifications.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
