PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $75,900.00-$92,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $59,000.00 - $109,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

BENEFITS

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As a Marketing Copywriter at BECU, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling, clear, and accurate content that connects with our members. Your words will help drive engagement and foster deeper relationships with our community, allowing them to better understand and benefit from our products and services. By collaborating with teams across BECU, you will shape messaging that aligns with both member needs and BECU's mission, creating a consistent and engaging voice in everything we do. WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with digital, marketing, and design teams to understand business goals and translate them into compelling content that resonates with our members and supports BECU's overall objectives.

  • Create Engaging Content: Develop and refine member-facing messaging for both digital and print media, ensuring it is clear, engaging, and aligned with BECU's values.

  • Maintain Brand Consistency: Establish and uphold guidelines for the consistent voice of BECU across all written materials, ensuring our content stays true to our brand and resonates with members.

  • Deliver with Authenticity: Ensure that all written materials reflect an authentic, welcoming, and inclusive tone that showcases BECU’s commitment to its members.

  • Manage Projects Efficiently: Prioritize, manage, and deliver writing assignments in a timely manner, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.

  • Work with Compliance and Management: Collaborate with department management and Compliance to ensure all content meets internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct Content Audits: Perform audits on internal and competitor materials, identifying opportunities for improvement and ways to enhance the overall member experience.

  • Stay Current on Trends: Keep up to date with industry trends, accessibility standards, and innovations that can help improve how BECU engages with its members.

  • Other Duties as Assigned: Be flexible and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support BECU’s goals and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or Marketing or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of copywriting experience.

  • Experience using Associated Press style.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in Financial Services, Advertising Agency, and/or Retail copywriting.

  • Proven experience in writing, editing, or copywriting for both digital and print media.

  • Demonstrated experience producing clear, persuasive, original copy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

  • Excellent copy editing and proofing skills.

  • Excellent critical and creative thinking and presentation skills.

  • Excellent PC (MS Office) skills, with the ability to learn new software.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage copywriting experience to provide consultation and guidance.

  • Experience applying principles and fundamentals of usability and accessibility to user centered (UX/UI) copywriting skills.
