About the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be part of the Developer Experience team at Kenect. The goal of this team is to increase self-sufficiency, delivery speed, and software quality for our feature development teams. This role is expected to produce high-quality code for tools, automation, and PoCs. There will also be many opportunities to consult with engineers and engineering leaders on how to best solve difficult problems related to Developer Operations.

What You Will Be Doing  

• Enabling a DevOps mindset on all the cross-functional teams, helping engineers to define the infrastructure needed to deploy their applications

• Proactively find ways to improve Kenect's security posture

• Research and evaluate advanced cloud technologies/architecture and proactively recommend tools that can add value to businesses

• Help in defining the latest cloud technology standards and best practices

• Assist with planning cloud migration initiatives, including impact on infrastructure, networks, and security

• Collaborate with architecture for any security-related issues

• Set up application telemetry and performance monitoring and alerting

• Troubleshoot production incidents, participate in post-mortems

• Be in an on-call rotation

• Automate everything, strive to improve the tooling we provide to software engineers

Skills & Qualification 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, (or equivalent experience)

• Experience with containerized environments and container orchestration engines, especially Kubernetes

• 7+ years of combined professional experience in cloud/DevOps/SRE with a minimum of 3 years in the cloud

• Profound knowledge of networking and security principles and protocols

• Experience in automation using tools like GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Shell, Python, Terraform, Saltstack, Jinja, CircleCI, NewRelic.

• RDBMS experience, especially PostgreSQL and MySQL

• Google Cloud and Kubernetes

• Multi-region application availability, CDN

• Experience in a fast-growing startup
