Leidos Senior Cyber Systems Engineer in Remote, United States

As a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer, you will be expected to develop a clear understanding of the critical systems we protect in partnership with power systems engineers, develop a clear understanding of the evolving compliance framework market participants face, develop strong perspectives on risk management strategies, and lead our reduction of this theory to best practices and lab exemplars.

You will be working with cross-domain subject matter experts, cyber engineers, and next generation cyber defense technologies, all focused on Operational technologies and their application to critical infrastructure. You will perform data analysis, investigative analysis, research on existing and emerging cyber threats, and develop tools to assist with these tasks. You will be challenged to leverage your understanding of the tactics, techniques and procedures employed by advanced threats combined with intelligence from multiple sources.

You will also be working with Capture Managers to develop proposals, participate in marketing activities, conferences and collaboration with industry peers and adjacent parts of our business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist program management and other technical roles within Leidos in addressing contractual OT requirements regarding cyber security of those environments.

  • Play an active role in the internal research and development process focused around the future of cyber security in OT environments.

  • Be responsible for the health and operation of internal research and development OT environments including their network operations and deployment of cyber security toolsets.

  • Frequently provide status and other reports of ongoing activities regarding OT efforts both for external and internal customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience; additional work experience or Cyber courses/certifications may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.

  • 1+ years of experience with OT, industrial control systems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) technology, cybersecurity and associated concepts.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and guidance regarding the securing of ICS and SCADA systems, such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-82, MITRE ATT&CK ICS Framework, SANS Institute Five ICS Cybersecurity Critical Controls, etc.

  • Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with the deployment and management of cyber security solutions designed for OT environments to include visibility platforms, threat monitoring, etc.

  • Master's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.

  • Familiarity or experience with MITRE ICS ATT&CK and/or The Industrial Control System Cyber Kill Chain

  • Unix/Linux command line experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
