Leidos Digital Modernization sector has an immediate opening for an Enterprise Cloud Engineer to join our IT Modernization team in support of our federal customers. In this role, you willsupport Senior Engineers, Solution Architects and Program Management who work directly with our customers to solve their most demanding challenges by adopting and leveraging current and emerging cloud technologies by delivering their mission in a more cost effective, resilient, secure, compliant and adaptive manner.In this role, the candidate provides engineering support to build and maintain a portfolio of offerings and capabilities that encapsulates Leidos’ and partner intellectual property to address current and emerging demand signals in the federal IT market for cloud adoption. The candidate provides guidance and engineering support across the lifecycle of cloud adoption and cloud operations, with a specific focus on balancing a standard user experience while allowing customers to exploit unique and differentiated capabilities resident in each cloud provider such as serverless, AI and autonomic operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Journeyman Cloud Engineer will work closely with junior and senior cloud engineers to configure and install software in support of the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment.

  • The Journeyman is an experienced cloud engineer that is responsible for the administration and support of the network in both development and production system environments including associated hardware.

  • The candidate will update and support multiple environments ranging from IL2 to IL6 by monitoring performance, allocating storage, and aid the Cyber Engineer and Junior Cloud Engineer in implementing critical patches to ensure network optimum performance.

  • Responsible for management of the network infrastructure, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup, and recovery of the infrastructure.

  • Works with Junior, Senior and other Journeyman Cloud Engineers to achieve daily goals for system performance, care, and maintenance of robust Cloud environment with an anticipation of improving the CI/CD agile software pipeline.

  • Will participate in daily scrums to discuss status of cloud network.

  • Responsible for coaching, training, and reviewing the work of lower-level Junior Cloud Engineers.

  • Responsible for researching issues, conducting analyses, and understanding of impact on the CI/CD pipeline to recommend solutions to Senior Cloud Engineers, other technical team members and Project Management.

  • Assists Senior Cloud Engineer with tasks and assignments to develop and maintain a robust Cloud environments to allow for a CI/CD pipeline.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree and 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience; or a Masters and 2 to 6 years of prior relevant experience.Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Requires deep understanding of one or more of the cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP or OCI and ability to apply cloud principles, theories, and concepts to support both a development and production CI/CD pipeline.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or can acquire a TS clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS, Azure, OCI and/or Google certifications (preferably multiple or at least one with strong experience)

  • Demonstratable understanding of the use of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, ‘Everything-as-code’ approaches, DevOps processes and tools, virtual machines, containers, container orchestrators (Docker Data Center, kubernetes, Open Shift, Cloud Foundry), ‘cloud native’ application design patterns, use of AWS, Azure, Salesforce or ServiceNow services in rapidly building applications, understanding of ensuring security for cloud applications

  • Familiarity with serverless application design patterns

  • Understanding of the appropriate process alignment patterns between agile development processes and ‘DevOps’ infused ITIL processes

  • Experience in building Managed Cloud Application Migration Services, with service descriptions, SLAs, labor estimates and tool estimates

  • Experience in planning and executing cloud application migrations for federal customers

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
